Solo Global Sail is a Challenge - an attempt by an animal activist in his 70s to sail "Kristin", a 6.5 metre (21 feet) yacht single handed around the world to promote and publicise the Animal Saviors Awareness Campaign.
The Challenge is designed to attract media attention internationally, nationally, regionally and locally resulting in TV, radio, newspaper and magazine coverage and raise funds.
The yacht will be sailed around the world in an easterly direction from Australia passing South of the 5 Southern Capes - New Zealand's South West Cape, South America's Cape Horn, South Africa's Cape Aguilas, Western Australia's Cape Leuwin and Tasmania's South East Cape. - completing the voyage at its starting point in Australia.
En route, the yacht will call in at many ports in several countries including the United States, England and Europe.
It's proposed that the Challenge (which will probably take about 3 years to complete) will commence in 2009.
Information will be posted on this Website Shortly
Before commencing Solo Global Sail – the Challenge, the yacht will be tested on a circumnavigation of Australia.
During the circumnavigation, a support crew will drive a camper van around Australia to meet with the yacht at several ports. At the same time, the camper-van will in effect be a traveling bill board clearly displaying campaign materials emblazoned on it sides and rear.
The support crew will distribute printed campaign materials around Australia and actively direct people to this Website, gather signatures and raise funds. They will also contact local radio and televisions stations, national, regional and local newspapers and magazines and hold local awareness events.
It is proposed that the Australian Circumnavigation will commence on 1 June 2008 and take about 12 months to complete.

Worldweb Schools Competition
An exciting Schools Competition organised for students through Years 8 to 12 inclusive is to be run on a National and Regional basis in support of the Animals Saviors Awareness Campaign and is proudly sponsored by uworldweb.
The Competition challenges students to design an Animal Saviors Junior Website. The emphasis is on creativity and originality of ideas to convey awareness of Our Cause to teenagers together with constructive ideas on how they may help stop the cat and dog fur trade. Alternatively students may choose to design a website for teenagers relating to any other animal welfare issue.
The Competition is not concerned with the technical aspects of creating a website – that’s for uworldweb. uworldweb has already created the world's easiest web solution. So students require no website or internet knowledge; only a basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator. Adequate instructions will be provided. Because students are not concerned with technical matters, they are free to focus on developing their creativity and the formulation of constructive ideas.
But, whilst every competition has a winner, this Competition is more about participating in a project that is dedicated to making a difference. Every student who participates is a winner and will be individually recognised for his or her contribution. Every participant will be thanked and awarded with a certificate recognising his or her contribution. This Competition is about making every student feel that he or she has made a worthwhile contribution. It is about making them feel a sense of achievement and self worth. The Competition is educational and develops leadership, teamwork and an understanding and compassion for helpless animals.
And, in order to maintain an interest and follow through to the final outcome, each student and teacher will he the opportunity to participate in and feel part of the yacht's circumnavigation of Australia and the World. They will each have emails sent directly to them providing periodic updates on the yacht’s progress, interesting information about the places it visits and updates on the progress of Our Campaign.
Information will be posted on this Website Shortly
Each school will be entitled to a maximum of 5 entries – one from each of Years 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12.
